Although I am
originally from central Illinois, I went to middle
school and high school in Geneva, Switzerland.
I spent six
years in the United States Navy and served onboard
the aircraft carriers U.S.S. John F. Kennedy and the
U.S.S. Independence as an aviation electronics
technician working on F14 Tomcats.
After
graduating from UIS with a bachelors degree in
biology, I earned a master's degree in science
education from the University of Illinois at Urbana
Champaign. Currently, I am a third year
doctoral student at UIUC where I am interested in
increasing student motivation through active
learning and multimedia.
